Surfer Chuck Patterson is one GNAR fool for going in the water with some Great White Sharks! Chuck went out SUP surfing with some friends in San Onofre and got circled by a 9 foot, and a smaller 7 foot Great White. The next day Chuck grabbed his Go Pro HD Hero camera and went back to the spot to get some footie of the sharks. Sure enough they were there and he got some pretty dope footage, check it out!

Its about time these shitheads finished their album (i am one of those shitheads)! Mixing and mastering is finally done, the short record is finally ready to be heard. This record took literally over a damn year to complete, and we are so fucking happy its done! Most of the lag on the album was due to school, work, and life. We are really happy with the finished product and can’t wait for you to listen to it.

We haven’t scheduled a release date yet, but it will be within the next month. The art on our album was drawn up by tattoo artist Mike Suarez, and the album cover was made by Tony47. Thanks guys!! Check out our single on FaceBook, hope you guys like it!!

D-Man 2010!!

It was definitely another successful year at the D-Man Festival! We are stoked that we got to be part of such a great event this year. The D-Man had awesome bands perform like Midnight Lamp, Too Rude, and Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds. Also there were all kinds of vendors with great games and prizes at their booths. Best part of all this fun is that all the $$ goes to charity!! Thanks to everyone who participated in our booth, we hope you enjoy the pictures!

This festival was created after Dive N Surf’s long time friend and employee passed away from Lymphoma in 2005. His name was Darren “D-Man” Marsee. Dive N Surf created this even to raise money for research, and now every year they donate the $$ from the D-man to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

D-Man has been getting bigger and better every year, if you haven’t been to one yet make sure you go to next years!

We here at Gnarle have admitted to ourselves that we have a crush on Emily Browning. She is staring in the new action movie Sucker Punch. We are also huge fans of Zach Snyder, so we are pretty damn effing stoked on this film. You might remember this girl from Lemony Snicket’s A Tale of Unfortunate Events. She was hot then too, but now shes a little more grown up and kicking major ass in Sucker Punch.

In the Lemony Snicket film she played a smart inventive orphan named Violet Baudelaire. In Sucker Punch she plays Baby Doll who is trying to escape an asylum with her inmate friends who are all pretty damn hot too. It sucks that Sucker Punch got its release pushed back from October 2010 to March 2011. I really hope its worth the wait.

LAX-JFK JULY 3rd

Lets just think of this as a rad pregame before our independence day! Sick clothes, skate demo, Tony47 on the Gnarle photo booth, and a live performance by OverDoz! Straight out of Inglewood, OverDoz came by LAX-JFK and executed some of their tracks. OverDoz is a trio of three friends (Sleezy, Kent, and Tube) that got together in 2008 to make hip hop music. They’ve got sweet beats with some smooth lyrics that are combined with melodic hooks. Check out them out.

Thanks to Tony47 for killing it at the photo booth again; changed it up from last events black n’ white and gave us a very colorful memory of our time at LAX-JFK on this independence day pregame. Skate demo gave entertainment too, as skaters shredded and showed us their capabilities.

ENEMIGO PUBLICO LAX-MEX

Saturday at LAX-JFK was sick! Free tacos, free drinks, Dj bumpin’ music, the release of an awesome skate video “Ellos Dicen Usted Es Tonto”, the release of the Enemigo Publico shirt, and of course a Gnarle photo booth. It was an awesome time! LAX-JFK released their first political shirt in protest of the signing of Arizona’s 1070 bill, which is basically a law (effed up law) made to reinforce immigration laws in Arizona. This Tee was a collaboration with Max Berra who is one of the stars in the acclaimed Mexican skate video by Rastro Productions “Ellos Dicen Usted Es Tonto!”

Watching the premier was great, LAX-JFK projected it on one of the walls of their shop make sure to check it out! We want to thank everyone at JFK-LAX for having us at their awesome extravaganza, all the people who participated in the photo booth, and to all the people for their support. YO! Happy Birthday Johnny Silva! I gotta say Sangria in Hermosa was crackin’ on Johnny’s birthday. Most of you GNARLE fools know about the decals we’ve been giving out with our clothing for a while. Yes the decals are sweet, but are a bitch when trying to put them up in a hurry or on a difficult surface. Thanks to T47 we have these new crack n’ peel stickers that adhere to most surfaces quite easily.

If you want to put a sticker on your car i would “stick” to our decals. These stickers are the shit for quick slaps and places you know the sticker is gonna get effed quick. Like the middle of your board; one disaster slide and its Shreddy!

I want to share these fuckin stickers with everyone! First 5 people to hit me up get a free shirt and baggy of stickers, next 15 people that hit me up get sticker baggys. So here’s the catch. Saosin – On my own

The meaning of Saosin comes from a 15th century proverb. The belief that certain things in life are not eternal, and that it is a mistake to become overly attached to any one thing, because that thing will eventually be lost.

And in 2004 after the band’s decision to sign to Capitol Records, Saosin lost their first singer.

Cove Reber then emerged as the band’s new permanent lead vocalist. Regardless of who you prefer, since then the band has released 3 EPs, 2 full length albums and have toured all over the world with bands such as Incubus, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, and Avenged Sevenfold.

And if you’ve had the fuckin amazing opportunity to go to any of the last few Warped Tours then you probably have already seen them rockin out on stage.

Check out Saosin‘s recently released sophomore album In Search of Solid Ground which just came out this past September.

Yes, that’s the homie Cove rockin’ the VSKATE a crucial must have in your current wardrobe.

Check out this photo shoot from almost unknown photographer David Bellemere from Paris. What caught my eye about these photos, (besides the obviously half-naked women) was the almost legendary location of where they were taken.

The photos were taken at the Sheats-Goldstein residence which is an amazing one of a kind house designed by John Lautner. The badass Beverly Hills home was bought by a Flamboyant billionaire back in 1972, James Goldstein, who is also known to be a hardcore Lakers fan.

The house was even featured in the super funny film The Big Lebowski and was also used by Snoop dog in his music video Let’s Get Blown.

Starting Saturday August 29th, the California Surf Museum will be opening a new exhibit that will highlight the historical roots of skateboarding. The exhibit focuses on the craft, and will exhibit skateboard models, manufacturers and riders from the 1930′s to the 1980′s.On the day of the opening, professional Shredders, as well as industry rock stars and representatives will be there to share theirÂ stories and of course, to autograph your boobies.
